Job Skills / Requirements

General Responsibilities:

The On-site Handyman performs general maintenance and minor repairs around the terminal. This includes painting and safety inspections. 

Shift hours vary/rotate. Must be flexible to work:

1 week: Thursday - Sunday from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM,

and the next week Thursday - Sunday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Pay Rate:

$19.00/hour

Specific Duties / Essential Functions:

• Sweeping, Mopping, Dusting, Polishing, Detailing Of Terminal Facility 
• Painting Of Terminal Facility 
• Floor cleaning
• Carpet repair
• Patching walls, replacing outlets
• Fill all dispensers with soap, lotion, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Requires employees to bend, reach, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Pushing, lifting, and carrying items less than 30 lbs.
• Repetitive use of hands, wrists, arms, and legs.
• Climbing stairs and ladders.
• Use of personal protective equipment correctly, such as safety glasses and vinyl gloves.
• Pull trash that can weigh 40 pounds or more
• Perform janitorial work and other duties as assigned
• Perform End of Shift Inspections (EOS) following company guidelines, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met at the end of each shift.

Requirements:

• Applicants must provide proof of work authorization and complete an I-9 and E-Verify process
• Must be a USA Citizen. The candidate will need clearance to work in the Ports
• Must be available to work weekends if needed
• Must be available to work assigned shift
• Consent to a Background check.
• Comfortable using a forklift (forklift Certified preferred)

Required Skills/Abilities:

• While not mandatory, proficiency in English is highly recommended to perform the responsibilities of this role effectively. We are committed to creating an inclusive work environment that values diversity." 
• Open availability: Overtime work and schedule adjustments may be needed/necessary. Holiday work may also be required.
• Establish and maintain a positive relationship with client representatives.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. While performing some duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Ability to walk for extended periods across multiple job sites
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to bend, reach, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Repetitive use of hands, wrists, arms, and legs, including climbing stairs, use of ladders, and kneeling or squatting
