Role Description
This part-time hybrid role as a Certified Peer Specialist is based in Clearfield/ Jefferson County, PA, with some work from home allowed. In this role, you will use your lived experience with recovery to provide individualized peer support to individuals facing mental health or substance use challenges. Daily responsibilities include offering emotional support, modeling recovery principles, assisting with goal setting, and helping individuals navigate community resources. You will document activities, collaborate with other team members, and actively participate in trainings as needed to enhance your role-specific skills.
Qualifications
- Lived experience with mental health or substance use challenges and demonstrated recovery
- Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills to foster meaningful connections
- Understanding of recovery principles, goal development, and problem-solving techniques
- Organizational and time-management skills to maintain accurate documentation and meeting deadlines
- Familiarity with local community resources and support services
- Ability to engage with diverse populations with empathy and respect
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Completion of a Certified Peer Specialist training program is required
- Access to reliable transportation for in-person meetings as necessary
