Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) (Mental Health)
Summary:
Peerstar is currently hiring for a Certified Recovery Specialist. Recovery Specialists work with individuals struggling with mental health and/or substance. The primary function of a recovery specialist is to assist individuals in setting and obtaining personal recovery-oriented goals. Recovery specialists also support individuals in becoming more independent and take a more active role in the community.

Qualifications:
Eighteen (18) years of age and older.
Self-Identify as having a Substance Use Disorder
Have at least eighteen months, in a continuous manner, of personal, lived, recovery experience
In the last 36 months have at least 12 months of employment or volunteer work
High School Diploma OR GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred
Must Produce PA-approved Vendor CRS Certificate (if Certified already)
Has completed a certified recovery specialist training curriculum approved by the state of Pennsylvania
Completion of the 78 hour Recovery Specialist certification training approved by the Pennsylvania Certification Board
PCB Recovery Specialist certification OR the ability to become certified within 7 days of hire
Criminal History Clearances- Epatch, Child Abuse, FBI and Verify Comply

The Certified Recovery Specialist is responsible for providing individual advocacy and support to their peers to facilitate the development of recovery skills, and enhance wellness. The recovery specialist provides opportunities for individuals to direct their own recovery process, and to develop self-help skills, build support networks, and increase awareness of community resources. The recovery specialist serves as a role model for recovery as someone who is a self-identifies as a person in recovery from a substance use disorder who can relate to others through their own recovery process.
