Peerless is searching for an experienced Technical Writer to support the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of technical documentation across a variety of software and technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation while working closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and end users to support product adoption and knowledge transfer. This is in person in Dayton OH position
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
- Bachelors degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer or in a similar documentation-focused role
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
- Experience creating technical documentation for software, systems, or technology products
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related documentation tools
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Knowledge of technical writing best practices and industry standards
- Willingness to travel to off-site locations as required
- Strong verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Key Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation for software applications, systems, and processes
- Develop API documentation, OpenAPI specifications, and user-facing technical content
- Produce onboarding materials, training resources, and self-service support documentation
- Collaborate with technical teams to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy
- Maintain documentation repositories and documentation-as-code frameworks
- Ensure documentation follows established standards, style guides, and best practices
- Support continuous improvement of documentation processes and user enablement resources
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and gather feedback to improve documentation quality
