Description:
The Buyer is responsible for placing purchase orders at the correct price, with accurate lead times, and reviewing inventory levels and demand within GSS. The role includes analyzing stock levels, monitoring purchase orders, maintaining inventory information, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate communication with management. The Buyer must follow all company safety policies and meet OSHA requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities (original list, trimmed for repetition):

Developing an effective and accurate system for monitoring purchase orders.

Delivering a weekly purchase order report to suppliers and reviewing for accuracy.

Reviewing requisition forms (vendor number, part number, description, quantity) and confirming required quantities in GSS.

Working with the management team to ensure all deliveries satisfy assigned orders.

Assisting with maintaining inventory levels and materials within the system.

Effectively communicating with the management team to ensure all orders are accurate.

Working with facility team members on inventory accuracy.

Managing billet inventory while move tags are still in use.

Preparing supplier scorecards monthly.
- Following all company safety policies and wearing required PPE.
Education & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or equivalent purchasing experience.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Extremely organized and detail oriented with excellent follow-up.

MRP and supply chain knowledge.
- Proficient in PC applications including MS Office.
Physical Requirements

Ability to remain stationary 50% of the time working with a computer.

Mixture of being on your feet in the plant and working in an office setting.

Ability to move up to 15 pounds as needed.

Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.

Exposure to fluctuating temperatures, dirt, dust, noise, and typical factory/office environments.
- Standard schedule of 40 hours per week; may require more depending on workload.
