We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our front desk team and help deliver an excellent patient experience.
Position Summary:
The Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for our patients, responsible for creating a positive and professional front office experience. This role includes scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, insurance verification, and providing administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival.
- Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and messages in a timely manner.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, maintaining accuracy in the scheduling system.
- Verify insurance eligibility, obtain authorizations, and collect co-pays/balances.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring all forms and information are complete.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry.
- Collaborate with doctors, opticians, and other team members to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Handle patient inquiries with professionalism, patience, and accuracy.
- Support the overall operations of the office as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or healthcare administration experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical or optometry office is a plus but not required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with computers, scheduling software, and basic office equipment.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
Schedule
- Full-time and part-time positions available.
- Must have flexibility to work evenings and Saturdays, and rotate between practice locations as needed.
