SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician (Electrician) will work as part of a skilled maintenance team to ensure all electrical systems at Peek ‘n Peak Resort operate safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical panels, lighting, outlets, motors, and equipment throughout the resort. This role will also support general maintenance tasks such as plumbing, basic carpentry, painting, HVAC assistance, and seasonal duties like snow and trash removal, contributing to the overall upkeep and smooth operation of the resort.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems. Install wiring, conduit, lighting fixtures, outlets, panels, switches, and other electrical components in accordance with local, state, and national electrical codes.
  • Read and interpret technical documents. Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work orders to plan layout and installation of electrical wiring and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues. Identify malfunctioning systems, components, or parts using test equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Ensure compliance and safety. Follow all applicable electrical codes, company policies, and safety procedures. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and lockout/tagout procedures. Inspect electrical systems to ensure compliance with regulations and safe operating conditions.
  • Work in a team environment on maintenance requests as assigned by the Maintenance Coordinator to complete projects within established timeframes.
  • Complete electronic and hard copy maintenance logs to document project status, daily activities, and convey information to management, departments, or across work shifts.
  • Perform a wide variety of semi-skilled preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance at Resort Hotel and Restaurant facilities, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, basic carpentry/painting, heating/cooling, and snow/trash removal.
  • Deliver efficient, friendly service by communicating with management, co-workers, and guests at all levels.
  • Repair equipment, devices, or structures using tools including hammers, screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Assist project managers with transporting, securing materials, and completing specific tasks to finish assigned work in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Maintain company vehicle, equipment, tools, and other supplies in good working condition, reporting required maintenance, damage, or safety concerns to management immediately.
  • Develop a working knowledge of operations and equipment in each facility to expedite the completion of maintenance.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Thorough understanding of electrical theory, the National Electrical Code (NEC), and applicable local regulations.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing instruments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, and clients.
  • Exhibit high attention to detail necessary to perform repetitive tasks with a focus on quality standards.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a busy environment, often in inclement weather.
  • Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision with a focus on safety.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training.
  • Minimum of [3–5] years of experience as a licensed electrician (or relevant experience, depending on level).

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid driver’s license and an approved driving record authorized through the company’s insurance provider required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to stand continually or almost continually with hand/arm steadiness while moving the arm or holding the arm/hand in one position, using abdominal/lower back muscles to support the body.
  • Flexibility to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with arms, legs, and body. Manual dexterity to move hands and arms together and use both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble.
  • Must be physically able to lift 100 pounds waist-high; requires considerable use of arms and legs and positioning of the whole body, such as climbing in excess of 8 feet.
  • Ability to visualize how something will look after it is moved or when parts are rearranged.
  • Constant movement around the Resort (often in inclement weather) and performing the majority of job duties outdoors for extended periods of time.
