Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Heavy Equipment Oiler to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and longevity of a wide range of heavy machinery and construction equipment. Your expertise will help maintain equipment performance, prevent breakdowns, and support our ongoing projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery, while honing your technical skills in diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine lubrication and oiling of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, tractors, and industrial machinery to ensure smooth operation.
- Conduct inspections of hydraulic systems, transmissions, engines, brakes, suspensions, and electrical components to identify potential issues early.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using schematics, diagnostic tools, and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals.
- Assist with equipment repairs including welding, assembly, tire service, brake repair, and component replacement to minimize downtime.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, service logs, and parts inventory for compliance and operational efficiency.
- Support fabrication tasks as needed for equipment modifications or custom repairs using power tools and hand tools.
- Collaborate with service technicians and operators to ensure safety standards are met during maintenance procedures.
- This position also requires a clean driving record and a Hazmat license
Skills
- Proven experience with heavy equipment mechanics, including construction machinery servicing and diesel engine diagnostics.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems on heavy machinery, and automotive repair principles.
- Familiarity with schematics, electrical diagnostics, transmission repair, and troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining a focus on safety protocols at all times.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for mechanical details and troubleshooting complex issues.
- Dealership experience or background working with OEM parts is highly desirable for this role.
