Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans that incorporate curriculum standards and innovative teaching methods for middle school students.
- Utilize educational technology tools to enhance lesson engagement and facilitate understanding of complex concepts such as differential equations, organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, microbiology, and cell biology.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations aligned with standardized testing requirements.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering an inclusive environment that respects diverse cultural backgrounds and learning styles.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers on curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementation of IT-integrated lessons to ensure consistency across grade levels.
- Provide individualized support through tutoring or mentoring sessions to help students excel academically and build confidence in math and science subjects.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral observations in compliance with educational regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
- Proven experience teaching middle school students in classroom settings with strong classroom management skills.
- Extensive knowledge of math topics including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, differential equations, and proofing techniques.
- Familiarity with science disciplines such as organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, microbiology, cell biology, and dissection procedures.
- Experience integrating learning technology into lesson plans and utilizing educational software effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and cultural backgrounds.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and engagement with students’ families.
- Knowledge of educational compliance standards related to curriculum implementation and standardized testing protocols.
- Prior experience working with teenagers in a private school or similar educational setting is highly desirable.
