Join our team as an Avionics Installation apprentice and play a vital role in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of advanced avionics systems in general aviation aircraft. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge aircraft components, ensuring safety, reliability, and performance in aviation operations. As an integral part of our aviation maintenance team, you will utilize your technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and install complex electronic systems in accordance with industry standards and regulations. On the job training will be provided to potential candidates.
Responsibilities
- General aviation avionics installations & repair.
- Work alongside an experienced avionics technician to learn proper installation & troubleshooting techniques.
- Install, wire, and integrate avionics systems within aircraft structures following detailed schematics and technical drawings.
- Conduct troubleshooting to identify causes of avionics system malfunctions using tools such as multimeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, and specialized avionics testing equipment.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturing documentation to ensure precise installation and integration of avionics components.
- Perform aircraft maintenance tasks including mechanical systems repair, sheet metal fabrication, soldering, and the use of power tools and hand tools to support avionics installation projects.
- Follow all applicable regulations such as Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
- Conduct inspections on avionics systems to ensure compliance with operational & safety standards.
- Assist in fabrication tasks involving sheet metal work or custom component assembly to support avionics system integration.
Skills
- Strong mechanical inclination with a desire to learn and grow is required.
- Automotive industry technicians or similar background will be considered.
- Basic electrical theory understanding is desirable.
- Familiarity with aviation systems or military aviation experience is a plus.
- Ability to use basic hand tools is a must.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings such as schematics or engineering troubleshooting documents for accurate system installation or repair.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to apply knowledge gained through on the job training to troubleshoot avionics systems.
