Part-Time Payroll Clerk – Construction Company
We are a locally owned and operated construction company serving the Florida Keys for over 40 years, and we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Payroll Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payroll processing, bookkeeping, and construction accounting practices. This position is perfect for someone who is highly organized, dependable, and comfortable managing financial records in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on time
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure compliance with labor laws
- Handle certified payroll reporting and job costing (preferred)
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Assist with bookkeeping and financial reporting
- Track invoices, W-9s, and insurance certificates
- Work closely with controller on miscellaneous accounting tasks
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial and employee information
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of payroll and bookkeeping experience
- Construction industry accounting experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with payroll taxes, certified payroll, and job costing
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and accuracy
