Position Overview
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible OB Hospitalist to provide comprehensive inpatient obstetric care in a dynamic and supportive environment. This role is ideal for physicians who thrive in a collaborative setting and are passionate about improving maternal and neonatal outcomes.

Memorial Hospital is a 737-bed, award-winning facility recognized as a Baby-Friendly Designated Birth Facility and a Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care. Located in South Bend, Indiana, just 90 minutes from Chicago, the area offers a vibrant mix of culture, education, and outdoor recreation. Position Overview
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible OB Hospitalist to provide comprehensive inpatient obstetric care in a dynamic and supportive environment. This role is ideal for physicians who thrive in a collaborative setting and are passionate about improving maternal and neonatal outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Provide 24-hour OB Hospitalist coverage, including OB triage, admissions, inpatient management, and deliveries
- Work alongside a highly skilled team of neonatologists, maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) specialists, and certified nurse midwives (CNMs)
- Engage with Obstetrix MFM physicians to manage high-risk antepartum and intrapartum patients
- Coordinate care with Pediatrix neonatologists to ensure optimal neonatal outcomes
- Participate in teaching activities, clinical education, and mentorship
- Contribute to clinical research and quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with Pediatrix and hospital research teams
- Level III NICU and Level III Perinatal Center
- Level II Trauma Center, MedFlight services, and a dedicated Maternal OB Transport Team
- 10 modern birthing suites
- Average of 3 deliveries per 24-hour shift and approximately 2,000 annual deliveries
- Strong collaboration with a robust CNM practice of 7 providers
