Job Description
Assists in the delivery of primary pediatric health services in a clinical setting for physicians and mid-level practitioners (Nurse Practitioners). Licensed Medical Radiographer Certification is highly desired for this position.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Welcomes patients and families, and escorts them back to the exam room.
- Performs selected nursing and administrative duties as designated by physician or nurse practitioner.
- Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Records patients’ histories and subjective current status and vital signs as needed.
- Initiates medical record notation for patient visits in the electronic chart. Completes documentation as directed by provider.
- Answers telephone, responds to voice mail messages and calls per direction of providers, and refer callers to appropriate individuals.
- Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies and medications.
- Gives injections, applies dressings, assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and procedures.
- Participates in educating, teaching and counseling patients to follow provider directions and promote optimal well-being and health.
- Assists with scheduling of tests and treatments.
- Orders and maintains proper inventory of clinical supplies and equipment.
- Maintains patient files, records and other information with strict confidentiality.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Travel between locations as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
Licensed Medical Radiographer Certification recommended/highly desired.
Knowledge of medical equipment, medications and instruments
Skill in verbal and written communication and maintaining records.
Ability to work effectively and independently with staff, physicians and patients
Must have a positive attitude, pleasant disposition and be patient focused.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
