Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Pediatric Physical Therapist role based in Arcadia, CA. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and creating evidence-based treatment plans for children with physical disabilities or developmental delays. The therapist will work directly with patients in both clinical and home settings, collaborate with caregivers, and consult with school staff to ensure IEP goal achievement. Responsibilities also include using and recommending appropriate durable medical and adaptive equipment to support patient progress.

Qualifications

·        A Master's or Doctorate of Physical Therapy for PT’s or AS Degree for PTA’s

·        Experience in a supervised pediatric internship is advantageous and recommended.

·        A California state license to practice physical therapy or practice as a physical therapy assistant.

·        The ability to work on some evenings.

·        The ability to handle stress and pressure.

·        The ability to be flexible.

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·        Attention to detail, patience, and empathy.

. Manual dexterity and physical endurance to lift patients and equipment.

The Day-to-day Responsibilities Include:

·        A combination of Telehealth, Home-Based, Clinic-Based and School-Based treatments in the San Gabriel Valley.

·        Evaluations and IEP attendance to provide expert consultations to families, regional centers and schools.

·        Diagnosing the source of children's impairments and functional limitations through evaluations, interviews, and physical exams.

·        Creating unique, individualized treatment plans.

·        Helping children to learn to move their bodies correctly, make their movements less painful and functional, increase the functions of injured body parts, and heal from injuries.

·        Assessing patients and monitoring their progress.

·        Using techniques like those listed above that are designed to treat and address impairments.

·        Coordinating a child's care with other healthcare professionals.

·        Teaching children and their families about safety and home exercises.
