If so, we want to hear from you!Substitute Elementary School Social WorkerWaterford School District – Waterford, MIStart Date: February 16, 2026Duration: Approximately 8–10 weeks (with possibility of extension)Location: In-person onlyAbout the RoleWaterford School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced Substitute Elementary School Social Worker to provide social work support for students in an elementary school setting. This temporary assignment will begin February 16, 2026 and is expected to last approximately eight to ten weeks. The Social Worker will support students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs within the school community and work collaboratively with educators, families, and staff to promote student well-being and academic success.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide social work services to elementary students, including individual and small group interventions.Support students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs in accordance with best practices for school social work.Collaborate with teachers, administrators, support staff, and families to develop and implement effective strategies.Assist in the development of plans and interventions that support student success.Document services provided and maintain appropriate records.Participate in school-based teams to support student progress and welfareQualificationsValid LMSW with appropriate school social worker credentialsExperience working with elementary school students.Familiarity with school-based supports and interventions.Background in social work practice with diverse populations.Additional RequirementsAbility to work in-person in Waterford, MI for the full duration of the assignment.Completion of district and state background checks and fingerprinting as required.Must comply with Waterford School District policies and expectations for substitute professional staff.If you feel that would be right for this Special Educator position, please fill out our initial 3-minute, mobile-friendly application so that we can review your information.
