What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Sales and Marketing Peddler's Village position at Peddlers Village Partnership?
Summary: A senior leadership role responsible for driving top-line revenue through strategic sales initiatives and brand positioning. Lead the sales, catering, and marketing teams to exceed financial targets and expand market share. This role is a hybrid of a creative brand strategist and a data-driven sales professional. Responsible for crafting the property’s "story," identifying high-value market segments, and leading a team to exceed financial targets through proactive solicitation and innovative marketing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop and implement measurable communications plans encompassing public relations, media relations, websites, digital/email/social media, festivals and events, crisis communication and other aspects of strategic communications.
- Lead the sales team in developing new business through obtaining accounts from competition, lateral development of existing accounts and proactively soliciting new business, including oversight of Sponsorship sales.
- Collaborate with the Corporate & Hospitality Operations leadership teams to establish clear vision and high-level sales and marketing objectives to support organizational goals. Partner with department heads to formulate marketing plans for soliciting business.
- Actively engage and manage press relationships to ensure coverage of the Village special events, public announcements, and other projects. Prioritize media opportunities. Anticipate and respond to press inquiries.
- Identify targeted audiences and leverage the impact of powerful storytelling to each audience.
- Nurture a cohesive, “brand-centric” image, identity, and message for Peddler’s Village.
- Translate strategic goals into effective, results-based communication tactics.
- Oversee the execution of strategic, coordinated, and high-quality messaging across digital and media communications channels. Communicate messages in a clear, consistent, and powerful way with an emphasis on telling the stories of the Village and its stakeholders.
- Direct the execution of all online communications. Manage the production and delivery of digital communications to include Peddler’s Village website, social media and email marketing programs.
- Track and analyze sales data to monitor the effectiveness of communications activities.
- Direct External Agency teams for ongoing management of digital assets.
- Establish strategic partnerships with external businesses and organizations.
- Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets; monitor and analyze performance to update action plans and financial objectives.
Education/Experience:
Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or seven to ten years of hospitality sales and marketing leadership experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
