Job Summary: As a 5-Axis CNC Programmer with 10 years of experience, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating 5-axis CNC machines to produce high-precision parts. Your expertise in interpreting technical drawings, developing efficient machining processes, and ensuring the highest quality standards will be crucial in maintaining our reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for 5-axis machining centers to produce complex components.
- Set up and operate 5-axis CNC machines, including tool selection, fixture setup, and part alignment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models to determine machining requirements.
- Conduct test runs and first article inspections to validate program accuracy and part conformity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining production schedules.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and production teams to improve processes and implement design changes.
- Utilize CAM software to create efficient and effective tool paths.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Continuously monitor and improve machining processes to enhance efficiency and reduce cycle times.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC programmer, with at least 5 years specializing in 5-axis machining (aerospace preferred)
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (Mastercam and Catia preferred).
- Certificate or associate degree in CNC programming, machining, or a related technical field (or Bachelor’s degree in engineering)
- Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and CNC programming principles.
- Extensive experience with various materials, including metals, plastics, and composites.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Solid knowledge of tooling and fixturing techniques for 5-axis machining.
- Strong mathematical skills and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- High level of mechanical aptitude and precision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Kitamura, Mori Seki, Fadal, and Fanuc Controls.
- Familiarity with industry-specific standards and quality assurance procedures.
- Previous experience in a aerospace manufacturing environment.
ITAR Compliance Requirements
· Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
· Responsible for safeguarding export-controlled technical data in compliance with ITAR and company procedures.
· Completion of ITAR compliance training and strict adherence to export control protocols required.

Physical Requirements (Essential Job Functions):
- Ability to sit at a workstation or desk for extended periods while programming CNC machines.
- Ability to stand and move about a machine shop environment for extended periods during program prove-out, setup, and troubleshooting.
