Pedal Movement is seeking an experienced bicycle technician to help grow our Bikeshare services in the greater Long Beach area. Pedal Movement seeks a professional who is passionate about making Long Beach a more bike-friendly city and who is highly motivated to work with an evolving bicycle services company.
The purpose of a Bikeshare Warehouse Technician is to ensure a high level of service and maintenance on every bike of the Bikeshare fleet. This system includes 1000 vehicles in operation at any given time, and Technicians are tasked with ensuring all bikes and system assets are fully operational, and held to our high mechanical and aesthetic standards. In order to complete this task, technicians must have an advanced knowledge of all the bikes parts, various functions, setup, and breakdown and must adhere to Pedal Movements high standards for bike repair technique and speed. In addition to ensuring Rebalancers have a steady supply of working bikes, Technicians also perform a variety of smaller tasks associated with maintaining the overall system health by cleaning bikes, replacing batteries, routine maintenance, inspection, workstation & facility organization, refurbishment, and disassembly of system assets. Technicians will work in a company warehouse facility outfitted with all the necessary tools, storage, and office components necessary to maintain a steady flow of bikes in and out. Technicians must be well versed in a variety of bikes, the associated repairs and maintenance involved, and will be expected to quickly familiarize themselves with our system specifics.
Responsibilities may include:

Keep workspace clean, organized, and uniform to the Pedal Movement standard

Provide friendly, professional service

Provide assistance to co-workers and supervisors upon request

Refill parts bins

Inspect and repair bikes

Complete work orders

Assist the Field Staff when necessary

Comply and participate in any new or ongoing projects Pedal Movement may need outside of Bike Share responsibilities
Experience and Skills:
-
1 years experience as a bicycle mechanic or equivalent training required

Ability to assemble, disassemble, identify, and work with a variety of bicycle components and tools

Ability to prioritize and follow instructions from supervisors and coworkers

Mechanical and technical aptitude

Ability to creatively and collaboratively solve problems

Comfort with fast-paced response times for repairs and active warehouse/shop

Excellent time management and organization skills

Ability to lift up to 60 lbs; stoop, bend, and stand for long periods of time

Strong communication skills, positive attitude

Ability to be both self-directed and work well in a collaborative team environment

Salary: $34.25 per hour ( quarterly performance bonuses of up to 5% on top of your base wage)
