What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver - Hatchery position at Peco Foods?
Summary:
Drives truck to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drives truck to destination.
- Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
- Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
- Loads and unloads truck. Cleans compartment after unloading as necessary to avoid contamination.
- Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
- Performs routine maintenance on vehicle, including but not limited to, daily pre and post trip inspections.
- Assist location and Hatchery with operational duties, as time allows, ensuring an efficient production schedule.
- Ensure trucks promote a positive image of Peco Foods, Inc. by keeping the interiors and exteriors clean as conditions allow.
- Maintain a valid Class A CDL Commercial Drivers License with proper endorsements and commercial insurability at all times. Valid DOT physical is also required.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- One to three months of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Must maintain current DOT medical certification.
- Must meet company insurability requirements.
Work Environment:
- Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
- Exposed to dust, odors, fumes, and airborne particles.
- Occasionally near moving mechanical parts or equipment.
- Subject to moderate noise levels consistent with truck operations and poultry facilities.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to sit for extended periods, climb in and out of vehicles, walk, reach, talk, and hear.
- Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Occasionally required to kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
- Required to use hands and arms for loading, securing cargo, and other job tasks.
- Required to have vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
