Post Construction Cleaner

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Post-Construction Cleaner to join our team.

Pay: $22–$30 per hour equivalent, based on experience and project scope. Cleaners are paid a predetermined flat rate for each accepted project. Project pay is based on the size, condition, estimated labor time, and specific cleaning requirements of the job.

We use BookingKoala to manage job assignments, schedules, property details, and cleaner payments. Applicants must be comfortable using a mobile app to review and accept available projects, view job instructions, and clock in and out.

This position requires travel to different job sites. Applicants must be comfortable serving clients throughout Oakland County, Michigan, including Troy, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, West Bloomfield, Rochester Hills, Royal Oak, and surrounding communities.

In this role, you will be responsible for thoroughly cleaning newly completed residential and commercial construction sites to ensure they meet high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation. Your work will help transform unfinished construction spaces into clean, polished environments that are ready for homeowners, tenants, or businesses to occupy.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed post-construction cleaning, including dust removal, surface cleaning, floor care, and debris removal.
• Remove construction dust from walls, ceilings, baseboards, doors, cabinets, fixtures, and other surfaces.
• Clean windows, window sills, appliances, bathrooms, kitchens, and interior fixtures.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, and detail floors to prepare properties for occupancy.
• Follow cleaning and sanitation procedures according to company standards, safety requirements, and client specifications.
• Safely operate vacuums, floor-cleaning equipment, carpet cleaners, and other janitorial tools.
• Lift and transport cleaning supplies, equipment, and light construction debris.
• Maintain cleaning cloths, towels, and other reusable supplies as needed.
• Communicate professionally with clients, supervisors, and other team members.
• Complete assigned projects within the estimated timeframe while maintaining attention to detail.
• Properly store and organize cleaning products, equipment, and supplies.
• Report property damage, safety concerns, or unusually difficult conditions immediately.
• Use BookingKoala to review assignments, job details, schedules, and payment information.
• Clock in and out through the BookingKoala provider app as required.

Experience and Qualifications

• Previous residential, commercial, janitorial, or custodial cleaning experience is preferred.
• Previous post-construction or renovation cleaning experience is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, floor-care products, vacuums, carpet cleaners, and related equipment is preferred.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and properly handle cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to lift cleaning equipment, supplies, and debris safely.
• Strong time-management skills and the ability to work efficiently without sacrificing quality.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Professional communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cleaning team.
• Reliable transportation to job sites is required.
• Must be dependable and able to arrive at scheduled projects on time.
• Must be comfortable traveling throughout Oakland County, Michigan, and nearby service areas.
• Must be comfortable using BookingKoala or a similar scheduling and job-management app.
• Must be comfortable working in properties that may still contain construction dust, equipment, or unfinished areas.
