Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care to children across different age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs.
- Develop and implement engaging activities that promote childhood development, early education, and social skills.
- Ensure the safety of all children by maintaining a secure environment and practicing proper safety protocols such as first aid and emergency procedures.
- Support behavioral management strategies to encourage positive behavior and emotional regulation.
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap times, and hygiene practices in accordance with best practices in childcare.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive classroom or daycare setting that supports children with disabilities or special needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the childcare space to ensure a healthy environment.
- Document developmental milestones and activities to track each child's growth over time.
- Stay current on early childhood education techniques, classroom experience strategies, and caregiving best practices through ongoing training.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare centers, preschools, babysitting roles, nannying positions, or classroom environments is highly valued.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific care techniques.
- Experience in behavior management and implementing positive discipline methods.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing training in early childhood education is a plus.
- Familiarity with working with children with disabilities or special needs enhances your ability to provide inclusive care.
- Proven ability to build trusting relationships with children and their families through compassionate caregiving.
