Reports To: Service Manager and Beverage Manger
Location: St Johns County, Florida
The Host/Hostess is the first and last impression of the restaurant, responsible for warmly welcoming all guests and managing the flow of service across multiple dining areas, including the main dining room, patio, and bar.
Key Responsibilities:
First Impressions: Deliver a genuine, warm Southern welcome to all guests upon arrival and a sincere thank you upon departure.
Flow Management: Strategically manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists using the digital reservation system to ensure a smooth, balanced service flow for the kitchen and service staff.
Multi-Area Seating: Accurately manage seating for various environments, including standard tables, the patio, and the open-air bar area, paying close attention to guest preferences.
Communication Hub: Maintain constant, clear communication with managers and servers regarding table status, anticipated waits, and large party arrivals.
Cleanliness & Ambiance: Ensure the entrance, waiting area, and host stand are clean, organized, and reflect the restaurant's welcoming aesthetic.
Side Work & Teamwork: Complete all opening, running, and closing side work to meticulous standards, including setting up and breaking down stations, and actively supporting teammates.
Qualifications & Skills:
Previous experience in a high-volume or upscale casual dining environment is preferred.
Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional and calm demeanor under pressure.
Proficiency with reservation software (e.g., OpenTable, Resy).
A true passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction.
Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
