PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provides technical theatre instruction for students and serves as technical director for the Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts at Pebblebrook High School. |
REQUIREMENTS:

Educational Level: Bachelor Degree |
|
2. |
Certification/License Required: Valid Teaching Certificate or willingness to become certified |
|
3. |
Experience: 2 years experience as technical director for theatrical productions |
|
4. |
Physical Activities: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities |
|
5. |
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Written and oral communication |

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. |
Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance. |
|
2. |
Demonstrates knowledge, training and skill in organizing, maintaining and managing facilities for the performing arts; demonstrates experience and knowledge in stage management, lighting, scenery, sound and all other technical aspects of live theater. |
|
3. |
Provides high-quality sound reinforcement for daily events and an ability to program and run conventional and digital audio mixing consoles, medium and large format (Yamaha, Mackie, Midas, etc.); demonstrates ability to mix audio for 18 wireless microphones plus 4-8 channel track. |
|
4. |
Demonstrates ability to read, understand and draft theatrical ground plans, construction drawings, lighting plots and schedules. |
|
5. |
Provides expertise and/or certification for a full fly rigging system; provides expertise in all areas of lighting design and execution for theater, dance and music; programs intelligent lighting and conventional fixtures using ETC Expression 3 and Emphasis/WYSIWYG 3D systems and the Hog 2PC Control System. |
|
6. |
Instructs students in all aspects of technical theater including lighting design, set design/construction, sound design and costume design/construction. |
|
7. |
Fulfills all responsibilities of paper work such as inventory, equipment repair, report cards, attendance and purchase orders. |
|
8. |
Meets expectations according to the regular high school teacher job description. |
|
9. |
Supervises all technical aspects of concerts, recitals and productions; provides strong carpentry skills and ability to instruct students in all aspects of set construction. |

10. |
Maintains prompt and professional communication with parents. |

11. |
Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator. |
