Manager, Mechanical Engineering - Chassis, Packaging & Integration
Location : Fremont, CA
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Manager, Mechanical Engineering to lead a team focused on chassis, packaging, and integration for our innovative vehicle platform. This role requires deep expertise in automotive mechanical systems, including chassis components, structural integration, and electro-mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will drive cross-functional collaboration, lead design and development efforts, and ensure high-quality execution from concept through production.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Execution
- Oversee the design, development, and integration of chassis components (axles, wheels, tires, braking, suspension, and structure) and packaging solutions.
- Ensure successful mechanical packaging and integration between chassis, powertrain, body, and other vehicle systems.
- Lead CAD modeling, structural analysis (FEA, CFD), and validation testing for vehicle mechanical systems.
- Drive continuous improvement in mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and regulatory teams to ensure design feasibility, manufacturability, and compliance.
- Support vendor management and sourcing strategies for key mechanical components.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor and develop a team of mechanical engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
- Provide technical guidance, review designs, and ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Balance multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, startup environment.
