Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Counter Sales role based in Sanford, FL. The Counter Sales team member greets customers, answers questions, and guides them through product options, pricing, and availability. Daily responsibilities include providing product recommendations, preparing quotes, processing orders and payments, and coordinating with yard and warehouse staff to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. The role involves handling phone and in-person inquiries, maintaining a clean and organized sales counter, and updating basic product and inventory information in the system. The Counter Sales team member also supports colleagues by learning new product lines, following safety procedures, and contributing to a positive and professional customer experience.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal interaction and professional phone etiquette.
- Demonstrated Customer Service abilities, with a focus on listening to needs and resolving issues promptly.
- Experience or aptitude in Sales, including guiding customers through options and closing orders.
- Capability to assist with Training of peers or new team members on processes and basic product knowledge.
- Exposure to or interest in Sales Management concepts, such as tracking opportunities and supporting sales goals.
- Comfort working in a retail, construction supply, or similar environment; experience with hardscape or building materials is a plus.
- Basic computer and point-of-sale skills, including entering orders and looking up inventory.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods, handle moderate physical activity, walk, bend, twist and lift up to 40 pounds, working in all weather conditions and follow all safety guidelines.
- Reliable attendance, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to working with team members and customers.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; bilingual skills are an advantage but not required.
