Sales Associate - Pebble Beach Market (Full Time)

The Sales Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service at the Pebble Beach Market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide personalized customer service (custom sandwich orders, deli orders, answering questions pertaining to wine, selling merchandise, answering questions related to the rest of the resort, etc.).
• Open and close store as directed by supervisor; flexibility in shift availability required.
• Operate cash register and credit card machine to complete customer transactions. Associates are accountable for accurate cash handling and required to ensure that their cash drawer is precisely balanced daily.
• Place and organize product displays on the sales floor which may require lifting of items ranging in weight from 5-50 lbs., pushing and pulling, bending down and crouching, reaching up over and at times utilizing a step ladder, 2-4 times daily.
• Conduct physical inventory each month of market products as directed by Manager.
• Maintain open and timely communication with manager and supervisors regarding inventory levels.
• Always display professional and courteous conduct and behavior with associates and guests.
• Ensure supplies (cleaning, cooking, sanitizing, stocking, etc.) are always available and maintained.
• Drive company vehicles to deliver catered food to Del Monte Forest residents and assist with loading and unloading items at the Market and at the guests’ home with lifting ability of 5-25lbs. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be a team player and assist other teammates when needed.
• Adhere to scheduled shifts that will vary seasonally based on resort occupancy and special events.
• Answer telephone calls per the Pebble Beach Company standard.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in store by sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows, wiping down counters, sanitizing prep areas, organizing storage areas and ensuring all walkways are free from clutter and potential tripping hazards repeatedly throughout the day.
• Follow and comply with applicable State of CA Health and Sanitation procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and follow through on supervisor requests in a timely manner.
• Always uphold the dress code as stated in the Pebble Beach Company handbook and always maintain a professional and clean appearance.
• Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.
• Attendance in the workplace is an essential function of this position.
• Knows, models and integrates PBC culture (mission, values and standards).

Absolutely Required Skills

• Basic math skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Food Safety certification required.

Desired Skills

• Retail and deli experience preferred.
