The Assistant Visual Merchandising Manager is responsible for partnering with the Visual Merchandising Manager to design, plan and implement innovative and productive visual divisional strategies and programs, which achieve business objectives and enhance the Pebble Beach Company’s brand identity. This role provides visual merchandising support by directly overseeing part of the visual merchandising team and by taking an active role during special events and key seasonal initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists with the creation, development, and implementation of divisional seasonal concepts, promotional programs, displays, signage, and window presentations under the direction of the Visual Merchandising Manager.
- Collaborates with Visual Merchandising Manager in successful planning and implementation of in-store merchandising and visual merchandising initiatives.
- Coordinates in the execution of seasonal floor sets, store remodels and special events by assisting with design, directives, timelines, and logistics.
- Partners with the Visual Merchandising Manager in the design, development and distribution of signage and graphics.
- Tracks data reporting, including PO follow-ups and execution success, and utilizes data insights to inform future visual merchandising decisions.
- Supports hiring, onboarding, and training of visual team members; provides feedback and mentorship.
- Directly manages Visual Merchandisers assigned to off-site and Spanish Bay locations; provides daily support, sets priorities, and conducts check-ins to ensure alignment with brand and visual strategies.
- Assists the Visual Merchandising Manager in developing and maintaining comprehensive merchandising standards manuals for all store locations.
- Collaborates with the Visual Merchandising Manager, Buyers, and Store Operations to ensure the sell-through of product.
- Coordinates and organizes cross-functional department meetings, vendor meetings and team huddles as needed.
- Participates in all special event visual collateral design, sourcing, set-up, operation, and teardown.
- Sources visual elements, props, lighting, fixtures, and accessories.
- Maintains visual props, tools, and organizes the visual storage areas to ensure cleanliness and efficiency.
- Complies with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures; hosts monthly safety meetings and updates the SDS binder when necessary.
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested by Visual Merchandising Manager.
- Manages departmental functions in the absence of Visual Merchandising Manager.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 5-7 years of Visual Merchandising experience with specialty retailer, apparel preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong supervisory skills with demonstrated experience leading and coaching a team.
- Proven project management capabilities, including timeline coordination and execution follow-through.
- Technical drawing skills and familiarity with spatial planning.
- Basic knowledge of studio tools, props, fabrications, and materials.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and shared team platforms.
- Valid California driver’s license.
Desired Skills:
- Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Graphic Design, Fine Art, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and additional Adobe Creative Suite programs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and move frequently between locations.
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, and reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Repetitive hand use and firm grasping.
