Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that incorporate bilingual instruction, literacy education, and early childhood development principles.
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation, creativity, and social-emotional growth.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement strategies to foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to support children’s individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Assess student progress regularly through standardized testing, formative assessments, and observational techniques to tailor instruction accordingly.
- Incorporate Montessori or other child-centered teaching philosophies to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
- Support children’s physical activity through teaching physical education and promoting healthy habits within the classroom setting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field; additional certification in bilingual education is preferred.
- Proven classroom experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development milestones, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, tutoring, and literacy education tailored to early learners.
- Ability to work effectively with children from diverse backgrounds, including those with special needs or requiring early intervention services.
- Excellent communication skills in both languages spoken; fluency in additional languages is a plus.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment tools used in early childhood education environments.
