Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate experienced Veterinary Technician or Technician Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of veterinary experience/knowledge, will possess a strong passion for animal care and welfare, with the ability to handle various breeds of dogs and cats with a few exotics. As a Veterinary Technician or Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality medical care to our patients while supporting veterinarians in their daily tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both animals and staff.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
- Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall health during procedures and recovery.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and training techniques.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment, including equipment sterilization.
Requirements
- Proven experience in animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Knowledge of animal anatomy and veterinary critical care practices.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures relevant to veterinary medicine.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate.
