Teacher

Position: **Head Start Teacher**

Location (s): Philadelphia, Neshoba County, MS

Work Hours: 7 hours/day

Work Year: 9-10 months/year

Qualifications

• Minimum requirment is an Associate's Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Child Development or Earky Childhoos Education is preferred
• A degree in a related fielld with 18 credit hours in Early Chhildhood Education specific to infants and toddlers will also be considered.
• Must be able to lift 40-50 lbs. as needed
• Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch, stand on feet and sit on floor with children for extended periods of time without complications
  
  

Experience

• Must have at least two (2) years experience working in the classroom with preschool children
  
  

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the School Administrator, the Teacher will instruct children in activities designed to promote social, physical and cognitive growth
• Utilize a researched based curriculum and assessment to evaluate the progress of children and plan appropriate activities
• Develop individualized lesson plans, complete home visits, parent teacher conferences and monthly progress notes
• Must be able to lift 40-50 lbs. as needed
• Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch, stand on feet and sit on floor with children for extended periods of time without complications.
