Pearl Reliability is a leading management consulting firm serving asset-intensive industries including petrochemical, refining, power generation, facilities, health care, and manufacturing. We help clients optimize maintenance, reliability, operations, and shutdown, turnaround, and outage (STO) performance to improve equipment reliability, availability and throughput thereby increasing revenues and / or decreasing costs.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Consultant with a reliability engineering or maintenance background. This is an execution focused role responsible for supporting client engagements through structured analysis, field data collection, and development of high quality deliverables in the maintenance, reliability, operations, and STO arena. This role provides hands on exposure to these asset management practices while building core consulting skills.
Consultants work closely with their project leaders to translate data into insights, support solution development and contribute to meaningful and measurable client outcomes. This role is foundational in developing the technical, analytical, and professional skills for advancement within the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, organize, and validate asset, maintenance, and operational data from client systems and field sources
- Perform structured analyses related to asset performance, maintenance effectiveness, and reliability improvement
- Support development of asset strategies, maintenance plans, and performance improvement initiatives within the defined scope, schedule, and quality standards
- Identify data gaps or inconsistencies and communicate findings to project leadership
- Assist in preparing project deliverables, reports, and presentation materials
- Participate in field assessments, workshops, and client working sessions
- Follow and use established methodologies, tools, and templates as defined by the firm
- Interact professionally with client personnel at the technician and engineer levels
- Demonstrate curiosity, professionalism, and respect in client environments
- Represent the firm positively in all client interactions
- Work effectively as part of a project team, contributing to shared goals and deliverables
- Seek feedback and coaching to continuously improve technical and consulting skills
- Support knowledge sharing and collaboration within the firm
Qualifications:
- Minimum of trade school education in a maintenance related field with industry experience, bachelor’s degree preferred in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or related disciplines) or five (5) years of asset intensive industry, military, or internship in asset management, reliability engineering, or maintenance supervision or a combination of the above
- CMRP or CRL certification preferred
- Familiarity with reliability concepts such as preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and/or risk-based maintenance strategies, failure analysis, and maintenance planning and scheduling
- Working knowledge of EAM / CMMS systems and asset data analysis
- Able to read, interpret, and red line documents and prints such as procedure manuals, government regulations, industry standards, P&IDs (piping tabs), general layout drawings
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 80% travel to client sites, domestic and international. Home base is flexible but in close proximity to a major airport
