Are you passionate about patient care and looking for an opportunity to grow in a fast-paced, high-end surgical practice? Pearl Plastic Surgery is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our team of board-certified plastic surgeons, physician assistants, and experienced clinical staff.

Pearl Plastic Surgery is a premier aesthetic and reconstructive surgery practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a professional, compassionate, and collaborative environment. Our state-of-the-art office, accredited ambulatory surgery center, and medical spa offer a unique opportunity to work alongside leaders in plastic surgery while caring for patients throughout their surgical journey.

Position Summary

As a Medical Assistant, you will play an integral role in both the clinical and administrative aspects of patient care. You'll work closely with our providers to ensure patients receive an outstanding experience from consultation through postoperative recovery. This position offers variety, opportunities for growth, and the chance to develop specialized skills in plastic surgery.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Scribing and accurately documenting patient encounters in the electronic medical record.
  • Rooming patients, obtaining medical histories, vital signs, photographs, and assisting with examinations.
  • Assisting physicians and providers during in-office procedures.
  • Processing referrals and coordinating incoming and outgoing specialty referrals.
  • Preparing and submitting insurance prior authorizations and supporting documentation.
  • Monitoring authorization status and communicating updates to providers and patients.
  • Coordinating laboratory studies, imaging, medical clearances, and outside medical records.
  • Assisting with surgery scheduling and preoperative planning.
  • Instrument cleaning, sterilization, and maintaining procedure rooms in accordance with infection control standards.
  • Maintaining accurate patient documentation and assisting with general administrative tasks.
  • Providing compassionate patient education before and after procedures.
  • Supporting providers and teammates to ensure an exceptional patient experience.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred, but equivalent education or experience will be considered.
  • Experience in a medical office or surgical specialty preferred.
  • Experience with insurance prior authorizations, referrals, or medical records is highly desirable.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with electronic health records.
  • Excellent typing and documentation skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A positive attitude, professionalism, and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
