Job Overview
Pearl Dental Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our front office team. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless financial and insurance experience for our patients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for verifying insurance benefits, processing claims, and communicating treatment costs clearly and professionally — all while delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and accurately input coverage details into Open Dental.
- Process and submit dental insurance claims, track outstanding claims, and follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
- Provide clear financial consultations, including breakdowns of insurance benefits, copays, and out-of-pocket responsibilities.
- Assist patients with financing options and coordinate pre-authorizations when required.
- Maintain compliant and organized patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT codes to ensure accurate billing and documentation.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to confirm proper documentation for insurance submission.
- Handle billing inquiries and assist with collections as needed.
- Answer multi-line phones, schedule appointments, and provide front desk support when necessary.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Insurance Coordinator, Treatment Coordinator, or similar dental administrative role required.
- Proficiency in Open Dental (or similar dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft).
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, insurance plans, and coding standards (ICD/CPT).
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly and confidently.
- Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are highly encouraged to apply.
