Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with shippers and carriers to facilitate freight shipments.
- Negotiate competitive freight rates that align with company and client objectives.
- Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor freight shipments to track progress and resolve any issues that arise during transit.
- Prepare and manage contracts, documentation, and billing related to transportation agreements.
- Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, and internal teams to provide updates and address concerns.
- Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for expanding the carrier network and improving service offerings.
- Proven experience as a Freight Broker or in a similar logistics role within the supply chain industry.
- Strong knowledge of transportation modes, freight forwarding, and logistics procedures.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills for interfacing with clients and carriers.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency with logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Valid Freight Broker license or certification preferred but not mandatory.
