The Large Format Digital Print Operator is responsible for operating equipment, pre-press with some graphic design and finishing assistance. Since this position serves as a liaison between customers and our production team, excellent customer service skills are necessary. This is a fast-paced environment, and the scope of work includes: clarifying product details, establishing priorities, expediting production workflow, ordering required materials and completing maintenance and troubleshooting for equipment (EFI Pro 30f, Vutek h5, and Colex Sharpcut SXX1732). Excellent problem-solving skills are necessary, as is the ability to meet deadlines and share knowledge on techniques and processes. This position has no supervisory responsibilities, however, there is a close working relationship with the staff in several departments to ensure that all details are fulfilled as shown on customer's order.
Requires a minimum of 1 year experience in large format printing. Software knowledge should include Fiery and Adobe Suite.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining wide format printing equipment to produce high-quality prints and graphics
- The Large Format Digital Print Operator will collaborate with our design and production teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects
- Know and comply with all safety features and safety rules
- Show and demonstrate a quality-conscious attitude
- Demonstrated good housekeeping skills
- Prepares files for printing
- Operates and maintains large format printer to the fullest extent of output capabilities
- Proactively work with maintenance, supervision and other large format employees to ensure optimum machine maintenance and efficiency
- Evaluate output and make adjustments to obtain a desired level of image quality
- Troubleshoots problems that occur during job submission or the printing process
- Able to understand and execute custom finishing requirements
- Able to effectively operate a CNC cutter / router and keen cut tools
- Monitors and manages material usage to allocated quantities
- Computer literate
Requirements
Qualifications
- Ability to work mid-shift hours: 12:00pm-8:30pm
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Large Format Digital Print Operator
- Proficiency in Firey and Adobe Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to engage frequently with peers
- Basic math and unit conversion skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with strong multitasking skills.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High School diploma required, associate degree preferred
- Experience with Large Format Printers is a must
- Experience working with graphics
- Previous work experience in the field or in a related area
- Experience with Adobe Suite and other graphics programs.
- Computer Skills to include Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Fiery
- Able to work a flexible schedule
- Willingness to follow processes, safety standards and policies
