As a Unit Manager, you will oversee day-to-day clinical operations, support nursing staff, monitor resident outcomes, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote excellence in care delivery. This position is ideal for a nurse who enjoys leadership, mentorship, and making a direct impact on resident care and staff development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight for an assigned nursing unit
- Monitor resident conditions and ensure appropriate assessments, interventions, and follow-up care are completed
- Coordinate and oversee resident care plans, physician orders, and clinical documentation
- Conduct routine resident rounds to evaluate care quality, resident satisfaction, and clinical outcomes
- Supervise, mentor, and support licensed nurses, CNAs, and other direct care staff
- Assist with staffing coordination, assignment development, and daily workflow management
- Participate in admissions, readmissions, transfers, and discharge planning processes
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of clinical documentation and electronic medical records
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social services, dietary, and interdisciplinary team members to promote continuity of care
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and resident concerns while implementing corrective actions as needed
- Monitor infection prevention practices and support quality assurance initiatives
- Assist with survey preparedness and maintain compliance with CMS, state, and facility regulations
- Participate in QAPI activities and performance improvement initiatives
- Provide coaching, education, and ongoing support to nursing staff to promote professional development and clinical excellence
- Assist nursing leadership with audits, regulatory reviews, and quality monitoring activities
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing in the State of New Mexico
- Current CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of skilled nursing regulations, resident care planning, and clinical documentation requirements
- Demonstrated leadership, delegation, and team-building abilities
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
