Position Summary
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. You’ll play a vital role in enhancing quality of life through individualized, evidence-based care and close collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
- Provide therapy for communication disorders, cognitive impairments, and dysphagia
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and therapy team members to ensure coordinated care
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on strategies to support communication and safe swallowing
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
- Participate in care planning meetings and quality improvement initiatives
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current New Mexico SLP license (or eligibility)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or Clinical Fellowship (CF) welcome
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in SNF or long-term care preferred, but not required
