Accounting Associate
Peak designs and manufactures custom evaporative cooling systems for commercial HVAC units to improve unit efficiency and reduce energy used. We are a fast-growing manufacturer of adiabatic evaporative pre-cooling systems primarily serving the Data Center market.
We’re adding an Accounting Associate to support our Accounting Administrator and help keep the books tight as the business scales. You’ll handle the day-to-day financial operations—journal entries, invoicing, purchase orders, inventory tracking, and general bookkeeping—so our administrative team can stay ahead of a growing transaction volume. This is a hands-on role that touches nearly every part of the business, from the warehouse floor to vendor payments.
We are looking for a recent accounting graduate who is detail-oriented, comfortable in QuickBooks and Excel, and eager to build practical skills in a small-company environment where your work is visible and your contributions matter. The position is on-site in Memphis, TN.
Primary job duties will include the following:
Bookkeeping & journal entries
- Record and maintain accurate journal entries in QuickBooks on a daily basis
- Reconcile accounts and ensure all transactions are properly coded and documented
- Support month-end close activities and help keep the general ledger current and tidy
- Flag discrepancies and work with the Accounting Administrator to resolve them promptly
Accounts payable & receivable
- Generate and issue customer invoices accurately and on time
- Process vendor and supplier invoices—review, code, and schedule payments
- Create and manage purchase orders and coordinate with operations on fulfillment and receipt
- Track outstanding receivables and assist with follow-up on past-due accounts
Inventory tracking
- Maintain accurate records of parts, components, and materials in QuickBooks and supporting spreadsheets
- Record outbound inventory movements and reconcile against project logs and sales orders
- Conduct periodic manual inventory counts and investigate variances
- Work closely with the operations team to keep inventory records aligned with physical stock
Forecasting & reporting
- Assist in compiling data for cash flow forecasts and basic financial summaries
- Support the Accounting Administrator in pulling reports for leadership and planning purposes
- Help maintain organized records that make reporting fast and reliable
Filing & administrative support
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for financial records, receipts, and contracts
- Assist with general administrative tasks in support of the Accounting Administrator
- Support audit preparation and compliance documentation as needed
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university—recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) or a strong aptitude and willingness to learn quickly
- Solid grasp of basic accounting principles: double-entry bookkeeping, GAAP fundamentals, and financial statement basics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel—comfortable with formulas, basic data organization, and reconciliation work
- High attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work before it goes out the door
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized in a small, fast-moving team environment
- Clear written and verbal communication—you’ll interact with vendors, operations staff, and leadership
Bonus if you have
- Internship or part-time experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a finance function
- Exposure to inventory tracking or purchasing in a product, manufacturing, or contracting environment
- Familiarity with AP/AR workflows in a project-based or B2B business
- Any interest in or experience with the energy efficiency, HVAC, or data center industries
Salary : $40,000 - $45,000
