We’re seeking a AV Detailer to transform creative concepts into precise, production-ready drawings that support the integration of AV systems within custom exhibits, live events, and immersive environments.
What You’ll Do
Technical Drafting & Documentation
- Produce accurate, build-ready Vectorworks drawings and technical documentation for live events and AV installations within tight timelines
- Develop scaled technical drawings including:
- Floor plans
- Reflected ceiling plans
- Truss and rigging plots
- Complete system layouts
- Create detailed audio system layouts, including PA systems, front fills, delay speakers, and monitor systems
- Develop lighting plots including fixture placement, focus areas, power distribution, and data routing
- Produce video and LED wall layouts including panel counts, processing equipment locations, and mounting configurations
- Prepare electrical distribution diagrams including feeder paths, tie-in locations, distribution points, and load requirements
- Create:
- Rack elevations
- Signal flow diagrams
- Patch sheets
- Labeling plans
- Supporting equipment documentation
- Calculate and document:
- Equipment and system weights
- Point and distributed loads
- Motor spacing requirements
- Collaborate with Designers and AV teams to ensure concepts are functional, buildable, and technically integrated
- Translate creative designs into detailed drawings incorporating AV components such as displays, mounts, cabling, power, and signal flow
- Support Estimators with detailing hours and practical fabrication and AV integration solutions
- Partner with Project Management to execute AV-driven exhibits and environments successfully
- Work closely with fabricators, AV technicians, and vendors to ensure seamless workflows and accurate installation
- Provide the Graphics team with elevations aligned to AV placements
- Support the Service team with prep, staging, and shipping of AV-enabled builds
- Produce scaled, accurate drawings using CAD tools, ensuring all AV elements are clearly documented
- Maintain digital libraries of AV components, layouts, and standard details
- Ensure designs meet:
- ADA standards
- Building codes
- Electrical requirements
- Show regulations
- Follow Peak Technologies processes while applying independent judgment and initiative
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) and 4 years of experience in exhibit detailing, AV integration, or similar field—or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Vectorworks experience strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of:
- Drafting, dimensioning, and tolerancing
- Manufacturing and fabrication processes
- Working knowledge of AV systems, including:
- Displays
- Rigging
- Power distribution
- Cable management
- Excellent time management, communication, and multitasking skills
- Ability to problem-solve, innovate, and confidently present technical solutions
- Familiarity with production materials and fabrication techniques, especially related to AV integration
- Willingness to learn new AV technologies, tools, and processes
