What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineer position at PEAK Technical Staffing?
Mechanical Engineer
Purpose of the Position :
This position is responsible for the mechanical design and drafting for customer specific capital equipment orders. The candidate is also responsible for creating BOM's and supporting other functions of the business such as purchasing and aftermarket departments.
Knowledge and Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of five (5) years' 3D modeling experience with Pro-Engineer and SolidWorks
- Minimum of five (5) years' 2D drafting experience with Pro-Engineer, SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Hands-on experience running machines and designing / assembling fixtures preferred
- Proficient Microsoft Project user
- Proficient Microsoft Office Applications, including Word and Excel
- Good written & oral communication skills
- Excellent organization skills / ability to multi-task
- Knowledge of SAP a plus
- Works well in a group / team environment
- Knowledge of various fabrication processes (i.e., machining, sheet metal, welding, etc.)
Key Job Accountabilities
Capital Equipment Design / Drafting (70%)
Follow company ECN process to correct design issues.
Tooling / Fixture Design (10%)
Support Standard Products - Global Standardization (10%)
ftermarket Support (5%)
