Are you an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator who knows how to turn complex plans into accurate, competitive bids?
We’re looking for a skilled Estimator to join our growing team and play a key role in bidding excavation, wet utilities, grading, paving, and other heavy civil projects throughout the Phoenix area. What You’ll Do
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate, detailed estimates.
- Perform quantity takeoffs, pricing, and bid preparation using HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other industry-standard software.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and field personnel to develop accurate project costs.
- Visit project sites to evaluate existing conditions, scope, logistics, and potential challenges.
- Solicit and negotiate pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Prepare detailed estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead.
- Assist with preliminary project scheduling and bid strategy.
- Track awarded project costs and provide insight to improve future estimating and project performance.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Heavy Civil Estimator.
- Strong background in excavation, wet utilities, grading, paving, and site development.
- Proficiency with HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or similar estimating software.
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, production rates, and cost control.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
