Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Equipment Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair a mixed fleet of semi-trucks and trailers and airport Ground Support Equipment (GSE). This role is critical to keeping our semi-truck operations and airport ground handling activities running safely and on schedule. The ideal candidate has strong diesel and heavy equipment experience and thrives in a fast-paced environment that demands both quality workmanship and rapid turnaround.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on semi trucks and trailer
- Service and repair airport GSE including baggage tugs, belt loaders, pushback tractors, deicers, air start units, ground power units (GPUs), cargo loaders, etc.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems using diagnostic tools, schematics, and manufacturer manuals.
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts documentation.
- Respond to breakdowns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Collaborate with drivers, ground handlers, and operations teams to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience as heavy equipment mechanic.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; Class A CDL a strong plus but not required.
- Pass 10 year FBI background check (to receive airport badge)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in all weather conditions, and maneuver around aircraft safely.
Schedule, Pay, Benefits:
Tuesday-Saturday 8am-5pm (1hr lunch)
$22.50-24.50/hr base pay (straight pay)
$5.50/hr Health and Wellness (up to 40 hrs)
2 weeks paid vacation per year of work complete
1hr/30hr sick leave

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
