About The Role
- Building relationships with suppliers and internal colleagues, frequently holding supplier meetings and reviewing stock offers.
- Negotiating costs and supply for the product range and looking at opportunities to expand that range to grow the margin capability
- Working on new potential suppliers to drive availability, range and profitability
- Managing supplier performance, tracking service levels and outstanding orders, ensuring systems are updated to achieve the service level KPI agreed
- Staying up to date with retail pharmacy news including reimbursement changes, category changes and the pharmacy contract negotiations
- Understanding warehouse management systems and key elements to ensure stock levels are managed effectively
- Taking on key reporting for the team including service levels, monthly rebate claims and supplier spend
- This role will require previous buying experience in pharmaceuticals, and will cover all NHS categories
- Analytical thinking, dissecting data and making data-driven decisions
- Negotiation skills (training preferred)
- Interpersonal skills, effectively building relationships
- Excellent time management, able to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
- Effective use of all Microsoft based applications
