Commercial Electrical Service Technician

Location: 50-Mile Radius around Olathe, KS
Pay: $30.00–$52.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Service Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for providing electrical service, troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, installations, and customer support in the field. The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, safety-minded, and able to communicate well with customers, contractors, and team members. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to manage time effectively, and a commitment to doing quality work the right way.

Technicians Should Have Strong Customer Service and Communication Skills

• Organizing daily tasks and service calls
• Adapting to changing project needs, schedules, and customer requests
• Communicating clearly with customers, contractors, and internal team members

Service Technician Responsibilities Include

• Provide electrical service and customer support in the field
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment
• Complete on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing tasks
• Recommend repairs, upgrades, or modifications based on customer needs
• Manage time effectively and complete work in a timely manner
• Maintain a clean and organized jobsite
• Treat customers, contractors, and team members with professionalism and respect
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, diagrams, manuals, and technical information
• Inspect, analyze, and troubleshoot electrical systems and components
• Document completed work, service reports, time sheets, and job information accurately
• Coordinate the care and maintenance of company service vehicles, tools, and equipment
• Follow company policies, safety expectations, and applicable electrical codes

Experience and Education

• 3-7 years of electrical service experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Electrical apprenticeship, trade school, or related field training preferred
• Journeyman license or applicable electrical certifications preferred
• Commercial, residential, or light industrial electrical experience preferred
• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and completing service repairs
• Ability to work independently while representing the company professionally in the field
• Experience working directly with customers, contractors, or developers is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work on jobsites for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry tools, materials, ladders, and equipment as needed
• Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor conditions
• Ability to safely operate a company service van for work-related travel
