Kennel Manager

Peak Legacy Ranch is seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Kennel Manager to lead our animal care team and oversee daily kennel operations. We are looking for a hands-on leader with strong animal care knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to motivate and manage employees while maintaining high standards of animal health and welfare.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversee daily kennel operations, ensuring proper care, feeding, sanitation, and health monitoring of all animals.
• Perform all Kennel Technician duties as needed.
• Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate kennel staff.
• Ensure employees follow established policies, procedures, and animal care protocols.
• Monitor animal health, administer medications and vaccinations, and coordinate veterinary care as needed.
• Maintain departmental scorecards, records, checklists, and performance standards.
• Manage staffing needs, including absences, scheduling changes, and special events.
• Monitor kennel supplies, equipment, and inventory.
• Promote a positive, productive team environment through leadership, communication, and accountability.
• Communicate effectively with ownership, staff, and other departments.

Qualifications:

• Professional kennel or animal care experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Veterinary Technician education, certification, or equivalent animal health experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of animal care, handling, health, and husbandry.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and willing to lead by example.
• Ability to perform physical kennel duties, including lifting 40 pounds, bending, and working in varying weather conditions.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required.

Position Details:

• Full-time hourly position
• Compensation $20-30/hour based on experience and qualifications
