Staff Educator
The desired candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and be a licensed teacher, or extensive experience in the professional training field. Experience gained through activities requiring leadership and motivational abilities is desired. The ability to connect with a diverse population would be beneficial to effectively deliver required training. Valid Indiana Driver’s License and active auto policy.
Reports to:Director of Human Resource via Agency priorities and initiatives established by the Chief Executive Officer.
Primary Responsibility: The Staff Educator’s primary responsibility will to identify quality improvement opportunities within the Supervised Group Living residential homes. This will be obtained by personal observations in those homes, and then developing training to address those quality improvements. The Staff Educator will work with individual staff and home groups in the setting that fosters improved quality of care for the Residential clients.
Job Duties:
- Will be required to gain experience within each job categories in order to effectively train new staff in those areas
- Maintain conformance with CARF and all applicable standards, rules, regulations, laws and administrative codes.
- Will be required to transfer knowledge developed through self-education in areas of leadership, active listening, staff develop, coaching, etc.
- Identify training and development needs within the organization through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with managers and human resources departments
- Design and expand training and development programs based on the needs of the organization and the individual
- Work in a team to produce programs that are satisfactory to promote staff and management leadership skills
- Work within required budgets to provide quality training across a wide spectrum of skill sets
- Improve upon current induction programs to grow effectiveness of staff initial training
- Devise individual learning plans
- Produce training materials for in-house courses

- Manage the delivery of training and development programs and, devise a training strategy for the organization
- Monitor and review the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with managers
- Ensure that statutory training requirements are met
- Evaluate on-going training and development programs
- Amend and revise programs as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment
- Collaborate with Managers and staff to solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups
- Keep up to date with developments in training by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending relevant courses
- Understand e-learning techniques, and where relevant, be involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages
- Research new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and present this research.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
