Associate Pastor

Peak City Church Colorado Springs
Colorado, CO Full Time
POSTED ON 6/26/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/20/2026

Description

Position Summary

The Associate Pastor serves as the directional and pastoral leader of Adult Ministries at Peak City Church. This role owns the adult discipleship pipeline—growth track, care, discipleship, and outreach and is available to teach or host on Sundays as needed to support the Lead Pastor.

The Associate Pastor sits on the Lead Team alongside the Ministries Pastor and the Operations

Pastor, and is responsible for executing the vision, strategy, and values of Peak City Church within the adult ministry lane while embodying and multiplying the Peak City Staff DNA.

As Peak City explores the possibility of future multisite expansion, this role could naturally grow into a campus pastor position. The Associate Pastor’s portfolio and leadership development would position them well for that kind of responsibility if and when the time comes.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Hosting

• Be available to teach or host on Sundays as needed to support the Lead Pastor (travel, sabbatical, special series, etc.).

• Prepare and deliver biblical, engaging, and applicable messages that reflect Peak City’s preaching culture when called upon.

• Develop as a communicator through coaching, feedback, and intentional growth.

• Contribute to sermon series planning and creative direction for the teaching calendar as requested.

Adult Discipleship & Spiritual Formation

• Own and develop the adult discipleship pipeline: Growth Track, small groups, classes,

and spiritual formation pathways.

• Build and lead systems that move people from attendance to ownership to multiplication.

• Oversee the care ministry—ensuring pastoral care, prayer, counseling referrals, and

crisis response are healthy and proactive.

• Lead local outreach and mission efforts, building partnerships that engage people far from God.

Leadership & Team Development

• Recruit, develop, and lead paid staff and key volunteer leaders within Adult Ministries.

• Create a culture of ownership, growth, celebration, grit, and excellence aligned with Peak City Staff DNA.

• Provide coaching, feedback, and performance leadership for team members.

• Address conflict, misalignment, and sin issues with clarity, courage, and grace.

• Champion and utilize church management systems and administrative tools to facilitate

engagement.

Lead Team & Collaboration

• Serve on the Lead Team alongside the Ministries Pastor and Operations Pastor under the Lead Pastor.

• Participate in regular Lead Team meetings for alignment, planning, and accountability.

• Collaborate closely with the Ministries Pastor on Sunday services and churchwide

initiatives.

• Communicate vision, expectations, and wins clearly to staff and volunteers within the

adult ministry lane.
