What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position at Peak Behavioral Health?
Peak Behavioral Health is actively seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to become part of our interdisciplinary clinic in Oklahoma City, OK. We offer flexible scheduling options, including part-time positions with the potential to transition to full-time. At Peak, we are committed to delivering a comprehensive and collaborative approach to support families and children with autism and other developmental disabilities reach their highest potential. Our clinic provides a range of services, including psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), occupational therapy (OT), and speech therapy.
This position primarily consists of the following:
The Position:
- Evaluate and treat a wide range of speech and language disorders
- Create comprehensive treatment plans
- Serve as a team member for multidisciplinary evaluations
- Diagnose and treat disorders related to feeding/oral and motor/swallowing issues
- Provide family education and training to assist in transfer of skills
- Supervise SLP assistants as needed
- Work in an outpatient, private-practice setting
- Maintain client records
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records in according with HIPAA and State and Federal Regulations
Qualifications:
- 2 years’ experience working with children and families
- Experience working with augmentative and alternative communication
- Prior experience working with children with autism or other intellectual disabilities
- Possess a degree that includes an internship from an accredited Master’s program in Speech-Language Pathology, or as required by applicable law and/or regulation
- Maintain an Oklahoma State License
- Training and experience in areas of: feeding/oral and motor/swallowing
- Meets education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in SLP, granted by ASHA.
- Be familiar with PECS, AAC, ASL
- Excellent communication skills with other providers and families
- Must have great problem-solving skills
- Available full-time – 40 hours/week
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Proficient in using technology (Must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Office and familiar with EMR systems)
