What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician – Apartment Community position at Peak 5 Management?
Peak 5 Management is looking for a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Whitney Apartments in Urbana, IL. This is a permanent full-time position for someone who takes pride in their work and wants to grow within property management.
What You'll Do:
- Complete daily work orders including plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, drywall, and painting
- Prepare vacant apartments for move-in during turnover periods including repairs, touch-ups, and final inspections
- Assist with trash-outs and removal of abandoned items from units
- Help with furniture moving and appliance deliveries as needed
- Keep hallways, common areas, and grounds clean and presentable
- Work alongside the Maintenance Supervisor and report supply needs and maintenance concerns
What We're Looking For:
- Prior apartment maintenance experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, and appliance repair
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical work regularly
- EPA certification a plus but not required
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday with some weekend availability during peak turnover periods
This is a permanent position with opportunities to grow within our maintenance team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
