Paraprofessional (Part-Time, Small School Environment)

Position Summary:
Are you energetic, caring, and ready to make a difference each day? We are seeking a dependable Paraprofessional to join our dedicated team. You’ll work side-by-side with teachers and staff to support our students—especially our little ones—academically, socially, and behaviorally. Some days will be busy, others easier, but every day you’ll help keep spirits high and learning on track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers with classroom activities and lessons.
- Provide individual and small-group assistance to reinforce learning and encourage positive behaviors.
- Help students develop social and emotional skills, using positive strategies (no physical holds).
- Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, recess, and lunch.
- Prepare materials, organize learning spaces, and help keep the classroom running smoothly.
- Assist with implementing IEPs or behavior plans, following teacher direction.
- Observe and record student progress, sharing feedback with teachers.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for all students.
- Use basic ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) techniques to encourage positive behaviors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or training preferred.
- At least one year of experience working with children (school, childcare, camp, etc.).
- Good stamina and energy—able to keep up with active young children for 6-hour shifts.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a team spirit.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with ABA and behavior support strategies a plus.
- (If applicable) Must meet state or district paraprofessional certification requirements.
Work Details:
- Part-time: 6-hour shifts, weekdays--9 am to 3 pm
- Work directly with a certified teacher in a small, supportive school setting.
